Caregiver and senior usability

Alzheimer Athens case study

01

The communication problem

Alzheimer Athens needed to make critical information easier to find for caregivers, professionals and people seeking support. The existing online experience had navigation and content-structure problems, while calls to action for volunteering, donations and events were not prominent enough.

The quarterly magazine also needed stronger visual hierarchy, typography and storytelling to better reflect the organization's mission.

02

Accessibility first

The redesign prioritized human-centered usability, especially for senior users and caregivers. Typography, contrast and navigation were developed around WCAG-oriented accessibility principles, while clinical, educational and support content was reorganized into clearer categories.

The goal was not decorative simplification. It was to reduce friction around information that can be important at difficult moments.

03

Web and editorial as one system

The digital design introduced clearer routes to donations, seminars, support groups, newsletter sign-ups and professional resources.

For the magazine, the editorial system added feature-story layouts, infographics for complex medical information and a flexible grid that could handle changing content while maintaining consistency.
